The John Paul Jones Group was formed in 2002 by Jp Jones after a terrible accident caused him to have to disband his progressive rock group Jp's Eternia. Going back to his roots in blues and jazz fusion. Jp has had a variety of musicians in his group. The current line-up.

The band was formed as an extension of Jp's personality and influences. His influences are Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Pat Travers, Jon Butcher, Greg Howe, Tony MacAlpine, Miles Davis, even Chuck Mangioni.
Other groups emulated by the band are, Gov't Mule, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Sugarloaf, Peter Frampton, Robin Trower, and War.
The band primarily plays county fairs, community events, private events, biker rallies, and music/food/art festivals.
